IMPORTANT NEWS UPDATE

OK, i finally discovered the reason why the servers constantly displays the MSG "file mismatch" etc when we log in.

The NRC server boys installed the CTDP 2006 mod and then the CONGO RACING 2011 mod which we use.
But, they must have not installed the CONGO RACING mod properly, as the mod the server is actually using is the CTDP MOD.
The server uses the physics, engines etc of the CTDP mod, but checks for CONGO files for the correct types, so when you log in using the Congo mod, it'll be out of sync cause it doesn't match the ctdp mod its using... and when you log in using just the ctdp mod, it'll show mismatch as it finds your using the ctdp mod and not the Congo one it thinks your supposed to use.

So what does this all mean???

it means that, it seems that the cars you are driving are of the physics n engine of the ctdp...
renaults, mclarens, ferrari being the faster cars...
williams, red bull, bmw, honda being the middle range
toro rosso, midland, toyota, super aguri being the bottom end.


How to fix?
Well, honestly im not sure what they did or did not do wrong, so to if we want to fix, which i suggest we forget the congo racing mod as it seems trouble, we just delete the congo racing portions and i have the server run pure CTDP as before.

Why to fix?
simple, without the fix we cannot turn off the password on the server, which means that anyone cannot come along and practice and join us... which we want them to do, so if we leave it as it is, it'll always be just us.

Anyway, knowing that the cars are running the same as they were with the ctdp, i completely understand if people want to change or swap teams, as they are not equalised as before...

Well i suggest we change it to what we are supposed to be driving so we can more people in.

But in saying that we must make it easy for other racers to be able to put the congo mod on, put up a permanent message explaining where to get it and how to install the mod.

the problem with the congo mod is that everyone seems to have a different problem with it, and has become a person by person instruction manual on how to install... this makes it tough for new people to just do themselves.

Ok m8, then leave it as if or have congo mod removed and just use the 2006 mod.

Doing that then people should be able to join but must have the 2006 mod!

Anyway what ever is easy for u m8 is fine with me!

Thanks for the research Jack. I suggest we take off the Congo mod and run CDTP naked....I mean with clothes on of course. I don't think we are all as comfortable as Drugsy gaming naked!
