Merry Christmas

This is just a post I put on OFAW but can apply anywhere

Just felt the need to wish everyone a merry
Christmas as it is a special time of the year which also gets lost in
the goings on in life sometimes. It's a time for putting aside grudges
and grievances and adopting the spirit of the season. Forgiveness,
understanding and some swallowing of our own pride goes a long way to
making the world a better place. Wishing you all God's blessing for
this time of the year and for some it will be sad and difficult to have
Christmas without loved ones around or without a home. Let us think
about the big picture and be thankful for what we have.



On the lighter side.





The Pastor's Ass

The pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won.

The pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the Race

again, and it won again.

The local paper read:

PASTOR'S ASS OUT FRONT.

The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the

pastor not to enter the donkey in another race.

The next day, the local paper headline read:

BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR'S ASS.

This was too much for the bishop, so he ordered the pastor to get rid of

the donkey.

The pastor decided to give it to a nun in the nearby convent.

The local paper, hearing of the news, posted the following headline the

next day:

NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN.

The bishop fainted.

He informed the nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey, so she

sold it to a farmer for $10.

The next day the paper read:

NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10.

This was too much for the bishop, so he ordered the nun to buy back the

donkey and lead it to the plains where it could run wild.

The next day the headlines read:

NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE.

The bishop was buried the next day.

The moral of the story is .. . . being concerned about public opinion can

bring you much grief and misery . even shorten your life..

So be yourself and enjoy life.

Stop worrying about everyone else's ass and you'll be a lot happier and

live longer!

That's Gold

Yeah good one mate and a really good xmas message.

Last Xmas i found my brother dead and my father then passed away 6 weeks later. I had no xmas at all last year as myself and my family were devastated. It is now the anniversary of these tragic losses and I have moments of being mystified by the happenings of the past year. However, I have stayed clean through it all and despite recent upsets online, I am now in a very happy place.
- A new clan, with my best online mates and it all feels just great. Xmas will be good this year! Be good to yourself and everyone around you, friends. Have a great holiday season. Peace

Thanks Shooter. I know you speak from the heart and thats just one of the reasons you have my full respect mate. Already two people I know, who had 16mths clean and 2 yrs clean up, have just relapsed and I see the devastation and tears on their faces. All the reminder I need to see from where I come from, and where I never want to return. Its a tricky season for recovering addicts, as it is for many people in general.

I pray that we all have a good and safe one.

Drugs, your determination so far have been enormous! I know that as long as we can keep you distracted here, YOU WON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT and won't be tempted at all. You've seen their faces, and you don't wanna be like that. You're a champion, now all ya have to do is keep on doing what you've been doing everyday. You're a good guy on the inside, look, today when Boodie was worried about prison time for his accident, you were able to give him guidance, reassure him that he wouldn't serve time.

Now, on the matter of CHRIST-HOHOHO-MAS...Wishing everyone safe and enjoyable holidays. Make sure you spend as much time as you can with the family!
