Round 6 - Fuji + current standings

Post by English on Sun Oct 30, 2011 11:42 am

Ok, so Donington park was a nice track, but the server itself suffered from as yet un-identified issues, which we will try and identify and resolve.

But for your info, the next track is Fuji... link

4shared.com/get/NbIDaG_7/KatsuoFuji_v123.html

CLICK THE GREENY BUTTON AND WAIT FOR THE 60 SECONDS AND THEN CLICK THE DOWNLOAD FILE NOW LINK WHEN IT APPEARS, CLICKING ANYTHING ELSE IS ADVERTISEMENT SO DON'T DO IT.

Once installed, download this link...

mediafire.com ?7cpdd0yq67h6ygy

and install... that's right folks, it's a WET RACE! (umbrellas are optional)

And will be running on the server as soon as i finish uploading it.

The current DnD 2011 season standings are currently as follows...
[/tr[/tr]
Spa Nurburg Assen (rescheduled) Singapore Donington
Anders 0 10 0 10 8 28
Cropper 5 8 0 0 6 19
English 8 0 0 0 10 18
Stormer 6 00 0 0 6
Shooter 0 6 0 0 0 6
Dominator 0 0 0 0 0
Toey 10 0 0 0 0 10

Donington what a joke how can you have standings for a race that after 1 hour of stuffing around it still didn't work???

I suppose the same could be said of the Singapore one. I got booted by the server. Still those standings really aren't accurate because no race has worked properly this season from a server standpoint. I guess you could call them Clayton standings, "the race you have, when you're not having a race"

Damn servers!! Mad

If we get the server fixed, if it already isn't, we should try a practice race during the week and see if the server decides to play nice with everyone? I think this would help to eliminate any issues that could come about on the race night! Rather than just jumping on race night and then realising there are problems with the server, this would save people getting annoyed. As unfortunately the more this happens, the more likely it is people will lose interest!!

Just my thoughts!! I am definately happy to jump on and have a practice race anytime!!

just out of interest, what times are people getting on this track?

The Fuji race, on a x2 scale, will consist of 33 laps, plus the parade and outlap so take this into account when thinking of fuel etc.

Im still testing the server under race conditions, if the issue is not resolved by friday then ill let everyone know about it.

I have done around 50 laps with a wheel (no more gamepad Smile) and the best time i have managed to get is a 1:29.1. Avg around the 1:31-1:32 mark. Tough track in the wet!! Is traction control off as on the track as I find if I race around in my tester track I have MUCH more grip?

Im on a 1:28, though i haven't finished testing yet....

As for driving offline versus on the server, yes traction is turned on on the server... but yes, you have discovered one known rfactor 'quirk' in the fact that for some reason, not a setting or bug, but offline on your own the track handles differently than that of a dedicated server track, in the fact that the server always feels different. this is why practice really should be focused purely on the server... where you can of course.

I have also discovered the reason why the server in the past race failed to let the race run around 20-30 secs before the race was going to start...

After many tests, logs and trials, i found out that the server thinks we had all crashed. By crash i mean because we turn our engines off and wait at the end of the out lap, which is what we have to do, the server thinks all of our cars had become incapacitated and as such registers all as crashed, and ends the race.

How to fix it? i'm still working on that, so ill let you know...

I dont have much time to practise this one but I think my time is around 1.28 or something like that.

I got a rfm mismatch again though, anyone else?

Server allows mismatches it says, will it still do in the race session? Whatever the problem is.

yes, the mismatch is there though i'm not sure why at the moment, but i made it so the server ignores the mismatches and just tells you, which is why your not kicked, and yes you can race with it...

I'm still working on the engine issue though... i need to place a ticket with them to look at the mismatch issue though as far as i see, everything fits...

Me too! I'll see if I can get on. Haven't been talking to Jack and haven't seen any replies come through the mail about problems. Been real busy this week but worst comes to worst we'll jump on and run a 30 lapper on the practice course.
